So we treated the teachers to a back to school camping themed breakfast. Here’s a few of the table centerpieces I created to add to the festivities…
This one includes a mini-fir tree from my Christmas stash, some Lincoln Logs and crayons I borrowed from my kids, and a couple of battery operated tea lights. Did I mention the decor was pretty much free stuff I found around the house?
This centerpiece includes another mini fir tree wrapped in burlap, a “tackle box” (aka my daughter’s new pencil box), and a paper sack filled with “fish bait” gummy worms.
This was an easy addition – peppermint “Owltoids” in a glass bowl:
Another prop from my daughter, I perched this teddy bear in an iron-garden-trough-thingy I found in my craft stash.
This centerpiece was easy to make with a few paper sacks with scrapbook paper made to look like owls. I found the idea for this on Pinterest here.
I still haven’t found a use for this square grassy wreath I found at Tuesday Morning last year. But it worked for this centerpiece with a lantern and candle I had in my living room. I added burlap and baker’s twine to the candle along with a battery operated tealight. Easy peasy. And free. =)
I also made tent cards to decorate the tables.
Here’s a look at a few of those tent cards up close:
And this one is by far my favorite. Friends still makes me laugh. Tweaked from the brilliant art found at this campsite.
Finally, I made some S’more treats as a party favor for all the teachers and staff. Just take two of these deluxe graham cookies and a stacker mallow…
assemble into a cookie-s'more-sandwich and
put in a clear, sealable craft bag
with a tag!
An easy takeaway s’more snack for a campfire-free event.
Thanks for visiting!
