You know when you have a good idea and it just kind of takes off? My sister and I did that this week. We’re responsible for Teacher Appreciation stuff for PTA at our kids’ elementary school, and we came up with a fun Back to School breakfast idea for the entire staff.
Here’s the set up:
We gave the teachers water bottles (with labels I created to go with our theme) and bananas (“apples are sooooo last year”). Not just any bananas. These were special. Special because we wrote a different funny message on each banana. Sayings like:
“I’m healthy and I know it.”
“How many days ‘til Christmas vacation?”
“We love you like a monkey loves a new banana!”
“Let’s make like a banana and split this joint”
“Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.”
and
“Bananas are the new apples”
Oh my word…there was laughter! My sis and I giggled the whole time we were writing messages on the bananas (we prepared them the day before our breakfast presentation). And we were relieved when it was a hit with the faculty! A very inexpensive idea that treated the entire staff! Score!
PTA loves their teachers!
